Social Media and Graphic Designer Intern

WWW is looking for an enthusiastic Social Media and Graphic Designer Intern. The intern will join our team to handle both our WWW and our clients’ social media accounts. Intern will be expected to be creative and flexible, to interact with our collaborators who are experts in fields different from yours.

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to:

● Successfully organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects under strict deadlines

● Execute and maintain a social media content calendar

● Create, curate, and manage all published content from provided client materials (images, video, and text)

● Monitor and respond to account engagement, managing daily social media communication

● Conceptualize creative campaigns and graphics that drive follower growth and engagement

● Design and manage content graphics and templates (Canva and Other Adobe Creative Cloud based softwares in general and Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Animation, Adobe Premiere in particular. Knowledge of any other software is considered a plus)

● Resize and crop provided content materials as per platform specific requirements

● Synthesize information into captions, copy, and content that is easily digestible and engaging

● Follow the latest social trends and engage with our followers and collaborators

● Contribute to client’s social media campaign ideas

● Submit highlights and metrics for monthly reporting

● Offer proactive insight in improving our current social media marketing procedures and delivery to maximize outreach

● Maintain, develop, and protect the client’s brand voice as per their project requirements and best practices in the field of African Digital Humanities

● You will be working remotely!



Eligibility & Requirements

All applicants must have:

● Some experience and high interest in Social Media or a related fields

● Familiarity with prominent social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Youtube

● Strong written communication skills

● Strong time management skills

● Stay up to date on industry trends and platform feature advancements

● Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical teams

● Familiarity with social media accessibility best practices (is considered a plus)

● An understanding of general aesthetics in the realm of social media (social media graphic design and art manipulation skills are considered a plus)

● Interest, passion, energy, and enthusiasm for African Digital Humanities (is considered a plus)

● A creative, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented mindset to join our team!

The procedures for evaluation and feedback:

● The intern will submit weekly progress reports

● This will be evaluated by the mentor

● Further decision of continuation and absorption is strictly under the discretion of their mentor

Walk With Web Inc. (WWW) is a federally operating Canadian corporation created in July 2020, to precisely address the challenges around technical development, expansion and preservation of Social Sciences and Humanities research. Our mission is to develop, support, and preserve digital humanities research by creating novel digital sustainability solutions.
