Web Development Intern (Summer 2025)

Walk With Web Inc. (WWW) is seeking two enthusiastic and detail-oriented students from Central University to join our technical team as Web Development Interns. This internship provides an exciting opportunity for students to enhance their skills and gain hands-on experience in web development while working alongside industry professionals and contributing to impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in designing and implementing digital databases with guided training on our content management services, which currently support over 25 digital humanities projects.
  • Develop practical knowledge in user testing and learn effective methods for user-centered design processes
  • Receive mentorship and constructive feedback from senior developers and designers to improve their technical abilities.
  • Learn how to anticipate technical challenges and develop creative, feasible solutions. Acquire knowledge of industry standards, including technical documentation and best programming practices.
  • Asist in conceptualizing ideas, creating interactive prototypes/wireframes, and designing logos for web interfaces.
  • Gain hands-on experience developing responsive web interfaces, optimizing code, implementing search engine optimization, and creating sitemaps and user/process flows.
  • Contribute to the development of websites that benefit researchers, students, and the general public.


Qualifications:

  • A student at Central University (Preferable area of study: Computer Science, Information Technology, or related disciplines).
  • A genuine interest in web development and enthusiasm for learning new skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a willingness to troubleshoot and debug issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. A commitment to completing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or prior exposure to front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or React is a plus. Exposure to back-end languages (e.g., PHP) and database management (e.g., MySQL) would be an added advantage.

All interns must submit the nomination package to the Internship Coordinator at Central University, by April 30, 2025. Central University will then forward the nominations directly to Walk With Web Inc. 


Applicants are responsible for ensuring their nomination packages are complete. The nomination package must include one (1) single PDF file with the following documents attached in the order listed below: 


  • Cover Letter by Student outlining their motivation to participate in the internship. What they expect to learn and how they want to contribute. (Max. 1 Page) 
  • CV (Max 5 Pages)
  • Transcript unofficial but verified by Central University.
  • Previous work, Portfolio, Showcase (Include a maximum of 1 Page with a list of website links or use a Maximum of 5 pages to include different projects) 
  • Government-issued ID Proof, Passport preferred.

For Internship Coordinator - Central University

Central University must nominate at least two (2) and a maximum of five (5) students for each position. Since two positions are open for this call, Walk With Web Inc. will expect at least four (4) nominations and a maximum of ten (10).  

The nomination should be submitted in 1 email with two (2) attached files for each nomination. Each nomination forwarded to Walk With Web Inc. must include: 

  • Nomination Package (5 Documents submitted by students) 
  • Nomination Endorsement by Central University (Max 1 Page)

Email two PDF files to each student to Walk With Web Inc. for further assessment and final hiring decisions.
