Érika Melek Delgado is Lecturer in the History of Empire in the Department of History at King's College London, United Kingdom. She is the principal investigator of the Historical African Childhoods project (HAC Project), director of Freedom Narratives and associate director of the King's Past project.

Érika was approved for The Leverhulme Trust and The British Academy fellowships for her Early Career Fellow position. She held a three-year Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship position at King's College London. Prior to this, she completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Harriet Tubman Institute for Research on Africa and its Diasporas at York University in Canada. During this time, she was awarded two major grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) of Canada.
